In the Lab, datadice investigates new methods and tests them on specific tasks. We document every result with its test conditions and limits. We move suitable approaches into implementation.
The Academy enables people to understand data and AI solutions and use them independently. Training, practice and knowledge transfer are geared to their tasks and responsibilities.

Thomas Knorr
Founder and Managing Partner
Thomas Knorr runs datadice GmbH in Coburg. With his team he brings data and AI into the processes and systems of mid-sized companies. He supports the solutions through to regular operation.
Before datadice he led the data organisation of Lesara SE in Berlin, a growing e-commerce company, as Director Data Analytics & Data Science. Before that he worked as Senior Data Engineer at Project A Ventures.
In the region he serves on the board of Zukunft Coburg Digital e. V.

Our story
Since 2019 we have been building data foundations for mid-sized companies in Coburg. AI works reliably on this data. Each step builds on the one before.
May 2019
Thomas Knorr founds datadice GmbH in Coburg. Before that he spent several years in data engineering and data organisation at Project A and Lesara in Berlin. From the start we develop data platforms for retail and e-commerce, including for Thomann.
May 2020
We move into our office at Mauer 2, a few steps from the market square. A second location in Berlin keeps us close to the capital's tech scene.
2022
The team grows to 15 people across data analysis, data engineering, software development and project management. We run data platforms, reporting and interfaces for mid-sized companies.
September 2023
We refocus datadice on artificial intelligence. The principle behind it still holds: data before AI. The data foundation decides what language models achieve in a company. We have been building this data foundation since 2019.
May 2025
We connect AI directly to company databases. Business teams ask questions in plain language and get answers from their own data. We were on the market with this before ready-made software for it had become established.

The WissensAgent SPIRA brings knowledge management to Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace. It connects this content with in-house data. Employees find answers with sources, within their permissions.
